About Sanjana

Sanjana Mitali Rao is a high school senior in The International School, Bangalore (TISB). When she is not buried in a book on Greek mythology or political science, you might find her performing in a drama, peering into a microscope, hunched over intricate line-art, researching traditional medicine, discussing neuroscience and mental health issues, writing poetry and short stories, wielding a camera with a 600mm lens trained on wildlife, or elbow-deep segregating waste and pushing for a zero-waste, say-no-to-single-use-plastics world.

She is passionate about research, and has published a paper on Mesenchymal Stem Cell Cytokines. She is also the author of two books, and has been published in literary journals such as Coldnoon.

Her photography has been exhibited in national exhibitions such as Nature InFocus’s The Wild Nation, and she has co-designed an exhibit across 3 spaces in India’s premier arts festival, the Serendipity Arts Festival Goa in December 2017.
