TheFinalStraw.In is a citizen-led initiative to rid India of single-use plastics.
Starting with plastic straws and stirrers, we aim to push for a ban on production/ usage of throw-away plastic containers and reduce consumption of plastic at source,
while promoting plant-based and bio-degradable options.

How we are altering ecosystems is astounding. Microbeads and Microplastics — plastics under 5mm — have been found buried in digestive tissue, deep inside #coral polyps. Coral ingests microplastics in quantities almost equal to its natural food of plankton. Indigestible as plastics are, this may potentially be harming coral’s ability to nourish itself and grow. .
We have a long road ahead of us, but let’s join hands and start now to help save our oceans.

Supermarket packaging; take-away-food packets, cups and spoons; online orders packaging; individual chocolate wrappers; sticky-tape; oh heck, almost anything packaged comes with plastic. Unless we a) reduce b) reuse assiduously, and c) segregate at source and KNOW where the contents of our blue bins go, it will never end. .
Our rivers and, therefore, oceans will continue to choke. And all that plastic in the water will somehow come home to roost.
